Movie Review: "Before I Fall": Falls Short on Story But Still Can Manage

While most of us care about only on what's good on the outside, there are some who also just want to see the world burn by bullying or being a bitch to others. Samantha Kingston, the main character in the movie adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same title, "Before I Fall" never falls short to the previous description. In fact, she's a walking winning trophy --- a gorgeous drop dead body and looks, a loving boyfriend, amazing friends, and a seemingly perfect future. However, her life will turn a upside-down when one day, a freak accident will change her life, for better or for worse.

The story of "Before I Fall" is really that simple yet moving when taken seriously. The author, Lauren Oliver, has given so much life to a story where death has begun. Aside from that, you'll also learn something as you watch the entirety of the film. There are moral values, realization, and the most important thing is, redemption in the main protagonist of the film.

There are some who might find the movie "Before I Fall" a bit corny when it come to its main topic. But after watching "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" and knowing the "loop", the idea actually excites me to explore what more can you get just by getting in a loop? If time travels in a wormhole, and wormholes can be bent, the invisible line between the two end points of the wormhole is where the loop is! Interesting isn't it? Travelling back in time and being stuck there in a loop?

The movie "Before I Fall" has this indie film feel and texture maybe because of glossiness of the film and the attack of the director on how the movie was executed as it is being adapted from a well-known young adult novel.

Overall, "Before I Fall" falls short on story but I really enjoyed watching the film due to its entertainment and moral values it may give to movie audience. I will give "Before I Fall" a 7 out of 10 movie experience for bringing to life a fantasy that everyone can relate to.
