The month of April has already started and the next thing we know, it's already May. This could only mean one thing --- the Philippines has once again generated a lot of graduates due to recent graduation activities held in different colleges and universities in the country. Sooner or later, graduated students will go out in the field and look for a job. So before you do that thing, let me give you some insights in looking for that dream job.

There is a big difference when you say, "I like this job..." and "I want this job..." These two phrases are very much different from each other when we extract its meanings. Liking a job is like reaching a dream that you really desire, while wanting a job means you just have to live with it because you have no choice but to choose that option.

Liking versus Wanting

"Liking" and "wanting" has long been existing, perhaps, as early as the beginning of time. However, ancient people may not have a pure concept of what they are because they really don't what exactly these words mean. Cavemen for example might know that they "like" something by doing an act to get whatever that liking is urging them to move. However, since the cavemen do not really know words, when they "want" something, they might probably mistakenly associated it with "like".

In the vast world of job opportunities, "liking" and "wanting" also have different meanings.
Liking a job means truly a lot. When you like the job that you landed, you will feel secure, emotionally and perhaps, financially stable as well. However, liking a job does not necessary means being financially stable in the future. There are times that the job that you like does not transcends to cash flow. However, there are also some circumstances that indeed, it can generate to stable income.

The best thing is, when you like a job, you are more confident with what you are doing. You can't go wrong anywhere or anytime in your career. You will feel secure that you keep the job for a long time because you enjoy doing it. That's liking a job.
Wanting a job is more aggressive in nature. When you want a particular position for a higher compensation, or perhaps, you want this job because you really need to have a work, immediately because anytime your monthly allowance from parents will be cut off --- that's wanting a job! You are want a job because you simply want money, and money is power. Power means more responsibilities, don't you know that? It would also means endless sleepless nights, stressful meetings, and non-stop traffic.

If you work for money, you only want your job. And wanting a job has no contentment because eventually or in the long run, you'll have to ask for more money or more compensation for job that you are giving out. There are times that job or people piracy happens when an individual falls for this kind of employment trap. The money trap is always a dangerous thing because more money would also means more problem.

So, if you are one of those people who are searching for a job this summer, try looking for a job that you really like and a company that you really like to belong with. In this way, you can prevent yourself from resigning your current job and looking for a better opportunity over and over again.

Happy job hunting everyone and advance Happy Easter to all!
